Kate
has specialised in employment law for 19 years and more recently in
professional regulatory and disciplinary work.
She advises and represents clients in both contentious and
non-contentious matters and is an experienced advocate.
Kate
graduated from Sheffield University in 1984.
She qualified as a barrister in 1985 and as a solicitor in
1996. She joined KJD in
April 2004 from the Birmingham office of a major firm where she was a
partner and had been head of the employment team and latterly the
professional regulatory team.
Whilst
Kate has extensive experience of acting for clients in the public and
private sectors she has a particular interest in the healthcare
sector. She spent 9 years
as an in-house lawyer at a Regional Health Authority and has in depth
knowledge and understanding of the sector and healthcare law.
Kate
is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Birmingham
Employment Tribunal User Group. She
is also a member of the Association of Healthcare Human Resource
Managers and is on the editorial panel of the NHSP publication
“Employment Law Register”.
